The Kendleshire’s very own lady golf coach celebrated after she won three awards from the PGA.
Emma Brown was nominated by the PGA for the awards. She received one for her level 3 coaching and one for her charity work. Over the last five years Emma has raised over £25k for Macmillan Cancer Support, Cancer Research UK, Prostate Cancer UK, British Heart Foundation, SANDS, Bliss, Clic Sargeant and South West Children’s Hospice.
The final award was for player development for 2018, which was in recognition of the work Emma has done to get more ladies playing golf, and the work that she did, and still does, for the Kendleshire Kids Foundation, the independent, non-profit organisation using the facilities. In the latter, she delivers coaching activities to young people, from local schools, who have experienced adversity and trauma, using golf, as a tool, to build resilience and self-esteem for the future.
Speaking about the awards she won, Emma said:
“I love doing the charity stuff as a few of the charities have been close to me, family or friends.”
She believes the work the Foundation is doing with kids under the age of 18, from local schools, is amazing.
