Our Vision is...
to ensure the Kendleshire Kids Foundation’s ‘Golf for Good’ approach, is respected, recognised and responsibly used by all golf clubs around the world…

The Kendleshire Kids Foundation’s programme is about using golf for the development of young people, ‘Golf for Good’, who have experienced adversity and trauma and to support them in building resilience for the future and improve physical health. We are the first ‘trauma responsive’ #SportForGood and #GolfForGood charity in the world.

We believe that children and young people have the right to access help and support if they have experienced adversity and trauma; if they lack self-esteem and resilience; if they are at risk of permanent exclusion from school or if they are at future risk of youth offending. We believe that by working collaboratively with families, our workers, volunteers, and partners we are investing in the wellbeing of children and young people by building the healthy environments needed to thrive. The initial idea for setting up something that would benefit children and young people, who had suffered adversity and trauma, came from a visit to the Park Centre in Knowle West, a suburb of Bristol. The initial thoughts were to invite children and young people from our local area to come and spend a week learning to cook with The Kendleshire Golf Club’s head chef, who was very keen to support. For various reasons, this idea did not get off the ground, but it did, indeed, pave the way, shortly afterwards, for The Kendleshire Kids Foundation to be born.
