A MESSAGE FROM OUR CEO DAWN WARD
Hello everyone
Well here we are, a quarter of the way through 2023 already. It has been a very busy quarter with our project for the Youth Justice Sports Fund which has now come to a close. This was probably one of the busiest times for delivering, monitoring and managing the financial spend that we have ever experienced. I have met some brilliant people from other organisations who have been so inspirational and I’m sure I will come across them again at some point. Our connection with the Sport For Development Coalition will remain, for the future, as connections through them will be invaluable.
We finished our sessions, before Easter, with some great fun at the Congo Falls Adventure Golf at Stockwood Vale Golf Club where all our young people had a lot of fun getting into the competitive spirit!
We welcome two new members to our team: Heather Constable, as a trustee, and Karl Blackford, as our corporate co-ordinator. Both of these amazing people bring a wealth of experience from the corporate sector, through such areas as business and marketing, project management and business planning. They will be a great asset to our team.
We are still building many multiple partnerships and undertaking a range of training to upskill our workforce even further – all important needs for the future.
Our next big challenge is our Charity Golf Day taking place on Thursday 8th June at The Kendleshire. Full details are given, below, on our poster and entry form. This is open to members of The Kendleshire and any non-members, from private entries, or corporate organisations. This is an important day to help us raise vital funds for our programme. Please do join us if you can. It should be an amazing day!
As always, please do continue to follow us on our social media platforms: FaceBook, Twitter and Instagram and check out our website www.kendleshirekidsfoundation.org for all details of our programme of work.
Signing off until next time!
Dawn Ward
CEO
Welcome our new Junior Captain 2023
A warm welcome to The Kendleshire’s Junior Captain, Elizabeth Robbins who is supporting Kendleshire Kids Foundation during her Captain’s year.
A massive thank you from the Team, Elizabeth!
Our days out at Congo Falls
Our young people enjoyed trips, in each of their groups, to Congo Falls at Stockwood Vale Golf Club. If you haven’t experienced this facility yet, then we definitely recommend it! Thanks so much to the staff at the facility for great food and drink and for making us all feel so welcome. The young people had a blast!
We had two lovely mornings here with both our Saturday and Monday groups... both days the sun shone! There were several "Hole in ones" and several bigger scores ;-)
A massive thank you to the following for funding
Our project for the Youth Justice Sports Fund has now ended. Many thanks to StreetGames - Youth Justice Sport Fund - StreetGames; Alliance of Sport in Criminal Justice - Ministry of Justice Sports Fund - National Alliance of Sport; Sport for Development Coalition - Support Through Sport: How MoJ funding is helping to change lives at a local level | Sport for development coalition for their support with this project. This was a very short project over the last 3 months and we have learned so much.
We are pleased to say we are running a Charity Golf Day at The Kendleshire for the KKF.
Here are more details of how to enter your team or sponsor part of the day.
Youth Justice and Sport Conference
Our CEO, Dawn Ward, attended the Youth Justice and Sport Conference, held at the Birmingham Conference and Events Centre, bringing the involvement with the Youth Justice Sport Fund to a close. The event included keynotes from the Ministry of Justice, StreetGames and other consortium partners, as well as inspirational practitioners, a question time panel and a chance to network over lunch. This was an inspiring day to share with the team about the work we have been involved with.
You can make a difference :-)
